Mykiara Jones, a student at Middletown High School, went this week to Land of Illusion’s water park.
She fell off into a pool while she was trying to get off of a ride, and only 30 minutes later, the lifeguards located her and pulled her from the water.
She was sent to the Dayton Children’s Hospital but could not be saved. The Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said that our prayers go out to the family. There is a tragedy no parent should have to endure.
There are too many complaints about the Aqua Adventures Park. The park does not have certified lifeguards, life vest rules, and no rescue equipment.
The investigation will go beyond my office. I feel it is very important to obtain all the facts and fix everything. They closed the park after the tragedy out of respect for her and her family.
